St John's is a 115 years old Byzantine Ruthenian community. The founders of the parish were immigrants who left their homeland in Eastern Europe to settle in a new land. They founded a house of worship in Bridgeport CT on December 5, 1905. Even if they had very few possessions, they brought with them deep faith rich of customs and traditions. The parish community preserved and handed on this rich heritage of faith and prayer from one generation to the next. St John's that stands on a hill wishes to be the light of the beacon to everybody thourgh the proclamation of the Good News in spirit and truth.
Yes, we are a Catholic Church. Roman Catholics fulfill they Sunday obligation at any Byzantine Catholic parish
